Whether you're new to makeup or you've been dabbling in the artistry for a while, it's always good to freshen up your makeup kit! Check out my list of the essentials you should have on hand.

Beauty on a Budget:

Brushes - At least an eye shadow brush, powder brush and blush brush. For those on a budget, I highly recommend E.L.F. brand brushes, these range fro $1-$3 each, or you can buy a set

Eye Shadows - Depending on your eye color and style, you can find a nice palette that suits all your needs or buy individual colors.  My favorite natural palette is the Revealed 2 by Coastal Scents $19.95 (it's a dupe for the UD Naked palettes)

♥ Eye Liners - Liners are great to add a little more depth to your eyes. Accenting with a nice brown or black, or go bold with bright colors like purple and blue.  You also have the option of pencil or liquid liners. Pencils are great for beginners. My favorite pencil eye liners are Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liners $4.99

♥ Mascara - Make your eyes really stand out with a little mascara! My favorite one is NYX Pin-Up Tease Mascara $6

♥ Moisturizer - Picking out the best moisturizer for your skin is essential before you apply all that face makeup to keep your skin hydrated and healthy. Depending on your skin type, there are a variety of moisturizers you could use.  My favorite for all skin types is "Hope in a jar" by philosophy at only $15 for the travel size

♥ Face Primer - What's the deal with primer? This is so your makeup lasts longer through the day! With a good primer your makeup will stay in place and you'll look great ALL day. My favorite face primer is Porefessional by Benefit $10 for travel size

♥ Concealer - Conceal under eyes and blemishes.  Use a green color to cover red spots, while orange and pink are great for under eye concealing. My favorite concealer is NYX Concealer in a Jar $4.99

♥ Foundation - Foundation comes in light, medium or full coverage. If you have generally flawless skin, opt for the light (powders are best for light). If you have a lot of covering to do, go for full coverage (liquids are best for more coverage).  My favorite light/medium coverage liquid foundation is Cover Girl TruBlend $9.99

♥ Blush - Blush adds back that natural color back to your cheeks. Opt for a more blendable, natural color. My favorite is NYX Powder Blush $5.99

♥ Lipstick - Lipstick is a girls best friend.  With the large array of colors and brands it's hard to find just ONE. Which is why most of us have a large collection of lipsticks.  My favorite lipsticks are Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolors $7.49

Lip Gloss - Want a more natural, glossy look? Opt for a gloss instead of a lipstick.  They come in clear, tinted and full colors too! My favorite lip gloss is NYX Butter Gloss $4.99

Makeup Remover - I personally prefer the wipes. You don't end up with that greasy after feeling from the remover.  Most wipes will remove waterproof mascara too! My favorite is the ELF Makeup Remover Wipes $3

With all these goodies in your ready to get started!
